Board Decision re Tournament Rules Violation

Upon review, the MBL Board determined that two teams were in violation of the roster rules last weekend. Each of the teams in violation has been awarded a forfeit for the game in which they were in violation of the roster rules. (Please note that Admin/Board members playing in the tournament did not participate in the Board vote due to conflict of interest.)

While players can skip one game and still be eligible to play in the playoffs, teams that were missing required players and had double-headers last weekend became in violation of the roster rules as of the second game. Therefore, any team that does not comply with all the roster rules (e.g. having the required minimum of one player from each division) will forfeit the game(s) in which they are in violation.

This is not a new rule. During regular season play, teams that violate roster rules automatically forfeit games. However, for the tournament, forfeits will be considered 15 point losses instead of the usual 25 point loss.

Please note that Admin will keep a close eye on all teams this weekend, in particular the teams that play double-headers to make sure they comply with all roster rules and will administer the same punishment for any teams violating the same rules.

Thank you.
