D2 Week 4 Power Rankings

Assalamualaikum MBLeaguers.  This season is flying by but that has not stopped the high competition that is present in D2.  There are so many good teams that are battling week in and week out.  We are down to 3 teams that are undefeated but that just goes to show how competitive these games are.  Do not expect to show up and win easily as it will not happen in D2.  As the season trucks along I only see the competition in this division increasing.

Before I get to the rankings I want to inform you all of an unfortunate tragedy.  Some of you may or may not know David Kane but he has played in Muslim Basketball League for some time.  Unfortunately David has passed away due to an incident that occurred last Sunday night.  Please keep him and his family in your du’as, thank you.

1. Regulators (3-0) – They are living up to the preseason hype as they are off to a very hot start.  The offense is clicking and the defense is regulating.  They flexed their muscles against Classic to the tune of 82 points.  They will look to stay dominant as they move into week 4 with their undefeated record.

Player to watch – Emad Dalati - 28 pts, 12 rebs, 1 asst

Upcoming opponent – Hidden (2-1)                          Previous Ranking – 1st

2. Past Our Prime (3-0) – Another team that is off to quick start.  They are playing well and are playing at a very quick pace.  They blitzed Khandaan as soon as the game started and never looked back.  Definitely not past their prime as they head into week 4 with ambition to stay undefeated.

Player to watch – Abdullah Ahmed – 19 pts, 3 rebs, 2 assts, 2 stls

Upcoming opponent – What a Time (2-1)                Previous Ranking – 2nd

3. Massaage (3-0) – Another undefeated team that has played very well.  They knocked off the defending D3 champs to begin the season and then beat the runners ups in week 3.  It was a back and forth affair against Hidden but they came away with the win thanks to a very good second half.  Look for them to continue their brilliance as the season moves along.

Player to watch – Faraaz Malik – 18 pts, 5 rebs, 1 asst

Upcoming opponent – Classic (0-3)                                        Previous Ranking – 5th

4. Hidden (2-1) – This team has the talent to go quite far this season.  They lost against Massaage but do not discredit these guys as they have quality players.  It was a tight match up until the final whistle.  They will look to bounce back in week 4.

Player to watch – Jeff Kynard – 17 pts, 6 rebs

Upcoming opponent – Regulators (3-0)                   Previous Ranking – 4th

5. Lion Order (2-1) – Another tough team in a very tough conference.  They have the offensive prowess along with the tough gritty defense to do very well this season.  They came out on fire against IOK and never trailed.  They look to stay hot moving into week 4.

Player to watch – Royal Walker – 17 pts, 6 rebs, 1 asst, 2 stls

Upcoming opponent – Dynasty (0-3)                         Previous Ranking – 6th

6. AK Deux (2-1) – The Ansar conference has a lot of tough teams and these guys are just one of those tough teams.  They were in a back and forth overtime affair against What A Time and came out victorious.  Look for them to stay tough throughout the season but most importantly week 4.

Player to watch – Ryan Tank – 24 pts, 5 rebs, 1 stl

Upcoming opponent – Khandaan (1-2)                     Previous Ranking – 3rd

7. What A Time (2-1) – What do you know another team from the Ansar conference with a never say die attitude.  They played a tough game against AK Deux but unfortunately came away with a loss.  These guys have the talent to compete so watch for them to bounce back in week 4.

Player to watch – Arman Tondravi – 24 pts, 8 rebs, 2 assts

Upcoming opponent – Past Our Prime (3-0)              Previous Ranking – 7th

8. ICH (2-1) – A solid team that has the tools and ability to continue their success.  They played a near flawless game against The Hoopers as they led from start to finish.  They will look to keep the momentum going and notch a win in week 4.

Player to watch – Osamah Gissri – 24 pts, 8 rebs, 1 asst, 1 stl

Upcoming opponent – UBM (0-3)                               Previous Ranking – 9th

9. AMB (2-1) – They have made the biggest jump in my rankings this week and it is not by accident.  They are playing well after huge wins against AK Deux and Dynasty.  They will look to push forward with this momentum and gain another victory in week 4.

Player to watch – Shakoor Green – 12 pts, 5 rebs, 1asst, 1 stl

Upcoming opponent – IOK (0-3)                                  Previous Ranking – UR

10. The Hoopers (1-2) – After starting the season on the right foot they have lost 2 in a row to quality teams.  They were stuck in a tough matchup against ICH and came out the losing side.  They will look to week 1 to see what they did well so they can get it going again.

Player to watch – Zada Muhtaseb – 19 pts, 6 rebs, 4 stls, 1 blk

Upcoming opponent – Bashas (1-2)                           Previous Ranking – 8th
