Disclaimer: These are not personal jabs to anyone; in the end, this is all for fun. The goal is to bring a little spice to the season, and we will do so through a mix of these “Power Rankings” articles. Be on the lookout!

Jerusalem D3 Power Rankings:

1. M2P Elite (1-0) What a show by the duo of Abdullah Ali and Youssef Darwiche! They both combined for 48 of their teams 55 points. The electric point guard Abdullah led his team by scoring 27 points and an absurd 9 steals last game. Youssef scored 21 points on an efficient 9-17 field goal attempts and tallied 9 rebounds as well. They did shoot 0-16 from 3 as a team which was why the win margin was only 5 against Main Event 2.0. This team is a highly energetic one and loves to run the fast break off of other teams turnovers. This team will be one to watch out for if you have them on your schedule.

2. Black Mambas (1-0) 3rd time's the charm? The new look Black Mambas handled their opponent Brown Munde with ease. With stifling defense that only allowed them to score 7 points in the first half. This team is led by Rohan Sharma as their point guard. You may recognize the last name because he’s the brother of D3’s average shooter Ravi Sharma (Rohan might be the better brother). Chachmoni “Chach Money” had a near triple double with 20 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 steals. Their center Hammoud also showed up with a double double of 15 points and 10 rebounds. The rest of the team played outstanding defense and helped to out rebound their opponent 47-23. It will be a juggernaut of a team once the other players find their groove. This Black Mambas team is here to compete this year.

3. Revengers (1-0) The shooting duo of Ravi Sharma and Sulaiman Asif returns after losing in the finals last season with a completely new team. They picked up some opponents from last season in Zain Razzak running their point and Umer Khan aka Mr. Clamps. New comer Saif Alshaka showed out with a statline of 16/5/3 on 7-12 shooting. Ravi “Frostbite” Sharma had a ridiculous performance shooting 10-18 from the field and adding 5 3 pointers, each one farther than the last. His 29 points and 3 steals led this team to the win against Big Steppers. With Zain Razzak controlling this team's pace and all the pieces he has to work with, this team will be deadly.

4. Wolfpack (1-0) Junaid Zaveri and Feroze Oomerjee had 31 of their team's 42 points. This game was close until the 4th quarter in which they held their opponents, Check Up, to 8 points while scoring 16 themselves. Both teams shot the ball inefficiently but Wolfpack was the one to get it done at the end. Junaid scored 19 points and pulled 5 rebounds while Feroze scored 12 and had 6 rebounds. I’m not too sure about this team yet since they were very inefficient shooting wise but we will see how they clean up next game.

5. I-Slam (1-0) This team handled their opponents Ghalat Fehmi with no problem after being tied in the first quarter. Eisa Baig is looking to claim the title of best big man and showed out with 24 points and 6 rebounds on 11-14 shooting! A big that can slash and shoot? Definitely going to be a problem. The two other scorers, Abdur-Rahman Parekh and Taharka Islam both had 13 points a piece propelling their team to an easy win. This team will be an amusing one to watch so let's see how they do in the rest of their games.

6. Al-Muslimeen (1-0) What a start for this team as they took care of business against Big Mo’s with ease, beating them by a whopping 32 points. This win was a team effort as 5 of their players scored 7+ points while 3 of them were in the double digits. Caleb Banuelos had a statline of 12 points 5 rebounds and 3 assists while his teammate Bill Bislimi had a near double double with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Even though they are ranked at 6, this isn’t a team to take lightly. Excited to see what they do this season.

7. Big steppers (0-1) Regardless of the fact they only have 7 players Big steppers have high hopes for this upcoming season. It did not appear that they had the chemistry they were going for because for the most part it’s a new team with many new combinations of players. They showed great signs as they cut the lead down to 4 points at one point in the game, so we just have to wait and see who they pick up and let’s see how well they bounce back. I have no doubt that they will!!

8. Ghalat Fehmi (0-1) This team was led by the 2 headed monster Obeid and Bilal both these players scored 16 each while the rest of the team combined for 15, but it just wasn’t enough. I am sure it was just a bad game for the rest of the team but if their team gets clicking I can see them being trouble for the rest of the league. Let’s keep a lookout on how the rest of the team plays and if the 2 headed monster continues to roll.

9. Check up (0-1) Check up looks like they didn’t check into the game. I was hearing a lot of chatter about this team going undefeated and being the best team in the league. It’s hard to believe that when you only score 35 points in a 40 minute game. I’m sure they will brush the rust off their shoulders and check up next week. Mouaz is also on their team so I'm sure the refs are too.

10. Main event 2.0 (0-1) Main event was definitely in the main game last week. Playing against a shockingly flashy and speedy player Abdullah Ali. Despite getting the ball stripped 9 times by Mr. Abdullah Ali they only lost by 5 points. I can see them being a very strong contender once this team figures out its own strengths.

11. Brown Munde (0-1) This team had an extremely difficult season opener Vs. Black Mambas who despite their massive win margin were missing some key players. I think it would be harder to play worse than they did in the season opener so I'm excited to see what the bounce back looks like.

12. Big Mo’s (0-1) This team only had 5 players, it’s difficult to be productive and play with full efforts and energy with no substitutes. It’s even harder when there was only 1 player scoring in double digits. It also makes it even harder when you play such a big and physical team like Al Muslimeen. Let’s see if the rest of the team decides to show up next week and help their team out.
