On Saturday, February 12, 2022, after the conclusion of a Madeenah Division game between CHB and CPP, a fight broke out between players from both teams and some of their fans.  The conduct of the individuals involved was despicable, inexcusable, and does not represent the values of the League.  The MBL Board and Administration collected and analyzed various forms of evidence about the event in question, including witness statements, phone videos, and surveillance video.  In the end, MBL identified certain individuals as the aggressors in the altercation.  In accordance with MBL’s Zero Tolerance Policy, those individuals, who MBL will notify separately, are immediately and indefinitely suspended from any and all MBL activities in any capacity.  In addition, the entire CHB team is suspended for the remaining 3 games of the season and playoffs, and the entire CPP team is suspended for 1 game.

This incident is a shameful stain on our League, which for years has aspired to uphold Islamic ideals of brotherhood, patience, and mercy.  The rest of the League: please take heed.  This type of behavior has no place in the League and will not be tolerated.  Teams and players are reminded that they are also responsible for the behavior of their fans.  Teams and players are also reminded to exercise restraint and forbearance in the heat of competition and in the face of aggression.  It is easy to remain calm in calm surroundings; it is far more difficult to do so in the face of a storm.
